Our Executive Director, Walter Ritte, has been a leader in the loko i‘a movement in Hawaii for three decades. He founded Hawaii's first loko i‘a focused nonprofit organization, Hui O Kuapā, which today is a partner organization to ‘Āina Momona. Members of ‘Āina Momona were instrumental in the development and successful completion of Ho‘āla Loko I‘a, the statewide program to restore fishponds.
