ʻĀINA

For Native Hawaiians ‘āina (land) is our eldest ancestor. ʻĀina is that which sustains us and has sustained us for countless generations. Our ‘āina loved us first, and as such it is the kuleana of all Hawaiian people to protect, enhance, and aloha ‘āina, no matter the cost. Following a long and proud line of aloha ‘āina activists, ‘Āina Momona strives to preserve, enhance and protect ‘āina throughout the Hawaiian Islands, working directly with communities to mālama the land. We recognize that social justice and environmental justice are inextricably linked. The wellbeing of the ‘āina and people are one, and by bringing greater resilience to our communities we can restore greater health to our land.
